Back-to-School Edition

Just the Facts

Who: If you are just getting started with a new school year / job / marriage / baby / house / dog – or if you just feel like you need to go back to the beginning

What: Financial basics – understand where you are, where you want to go, and how to get there

Where: Location in Middlebury and/or Bristol (TBD), or virtually by video conference

When: Three Wednesday afternoon meetings, 1 hour each, between October 2nd and December 11th

            Plus – weekly virtual “office hours” on Mondays at 8 pm to address any questions

Why: Because finances are hard, and you just haven’t graduated yet!

How much: $500-900, sliding scale (self-assessed) – $300 initial deposit and balance at completion

  • Understanding your current situation from a holistic perspective

  • Articulating clear financial goals

  • Getting organized to manage your finances better

  • Combining assets with a new partner

  • Prioritizing between debt payments, saving and investing

  • How to start investing based on your time horizon, risk capacity and risk tolerance

  • How to start saving for college or buying a home

  • Understanding the tax implications of all your decisions

  • Et cetera

Preliminary Steps:

Step 1 – 30 min. introductory call (free) to discuss the program

Step 2 – Sign contract and pay deposit of $300

 

Meeting 1: Where You’re Going – Goal Setting and Prioritizing

A deeper dive into your current financial situation and concerns                             

When:   Wednesday 10/2, 10/9 or 10/16 (1 hour)

Homework:  Data gathering for a deeper dive into your current situation

 

Meeting 2:  Where You Are Now – Your Current Financial Situation

Analysis of your net worth and cash flow

When:   Wednesday 10/23, 10/30 or 11/6 (1 hour)

There will be homework again!  Based on your specific situation and goals

 

Meeting 3:  How You’ll Get There – Developing an Actionable Plan to Achieve Your Goals

Discussion of options and implementation strategies

When:   Wednesday 11/13, 11/20 or 12/4 (1 hour)

Homework:  Put your plan into action!
